Strictly Classes On Hold

We are sad to say that at this moment in time our not only amazing but very dedicated and talented teacher Toni will not be able to take classes with us at this moment in time. She has been with the school since the day it opened in 2010 and has always been a valued member of the team a great friend and teacher. We are so sad we will not see her weekly however she will be working behind the scenes and at our annual show. We wish her all the best as she continues with her teaching and training to become and examiner in the future.

About the Teacher - Toni Morris

I have been a member of the AJ’s team since the studio opened in 2010, specialising in Street, Latin and Ballroom. I am currently working as a Performing Arts lecturer at Chesterfield College, having achieved a PGCE in Dance with Nottingham Trent University. Prior to this, I completed a BA Honours degree in Dance at the University of Lincoln, where I refined my skills in Contemporary Dance and Choreography. I have extensive experience in Ballroom and Latin, having trained from an early age at the Richard Purdy School of Dance. I am qualified to Associate level in Latin, Ballroom and Freestyle and hold an Argentine Tango and Salsa Diploma with the IDTA, I’m currently furthering my knowledge and completing the licentiate Latin and Freestyle qualifications. Over the last twelve years I have worked as a freelance Dance Teacher /Choreographer based around the Midlands, working in a variety of community and educational settings. During this time, I have been responsible for creating choreography, organising trips and showcase events, preparing students for IDTA examinations and liaising with local companies to collaborate on performances and events. I have created choreography for a number of projects such as Dance Factor, U.Dance, Tom Dale’s Urban Explorers, Joss Arnott’s Strike and The Chantry Dance Company Showcase at LPAC. I have also worked on a number of performing arts outreach projects for Nottinghamshire Police, Positive Futures and Arts Nk, whilst teaching at a variety of dance schools and theatre companies such as Stagecoach Theatre Arts.
